Along with advanced training and education, Dr. Yaldo’s status as an expert in the field of laser eye surgery and advanced vision correction quickly grew.

Today, each of the Yaldo Eye Centers works with patients to assess their vision correction needs and present the most current corrective options. It’s our goal to stay abreast of the latest technology and advancements to treat nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), presbyopia, cataracts, and astigmatism.

Along with an initial free evaluation, patients will benefit from expert consultation and advice about the advanced vision correction procedures that are best suited to one’s age, lifestyle, and eyes.

Meet Dr. Yaldo

Since graduating with distinction from the University of Michigan in 1983, Dr. Mazin Yaldo has continued to distinguish himself as one of the leading LASIK and cataract surgeons in Detroit and the country.

For three consecutive years, from 2011 through 2013, Dr. Yaldo was selected as “Lasik Surgeon of the Year” by the esteemed Consumer’s Research Council of America, a Washington, D.C. based research organization providing consumer information on obtaining the finest professional services in the U.S.

Dr. Yaldo earned Alpha Omega Alpha honors from Wayne State and completed his ophthalmology residency at the renowned Kresge Eye Institute. He followed up his residency with a post-doctorate fellowship in glaucoma and complicated cataracts at Pacific Presbyterian Medical Center in San Francisco.

In becoming one of Michigan’s most prominent eye surgeons, he has performed some 30,000 Michigan Lasik eye surgery procedures, likely the most of any surgeon in Michigan.

Among his many credentials, in June 2014, Dr. Yaldo was one of the first to perform the new FDA approved topography-guided LASIK procedure known as Customized Aspheric Treatment Zone (or “CATz”). “CATz is by far the most precise LASIK technology available, and it represents a huge leap forward in this industry,” says Dr. Yaldo. “I am proud to have played a role in its development over the past several years. I’m also delighted to be one of the first surgeons in the nation to offer what is now the new gold standard for LASIK.”

One of the most important decisions consumers must make regarding LASIK or cataract surgery is choosing a surgeon with vast knowledge and experience. In this regard, tens of thousands of Michiganders have put their trust in Dr. Yaldo and are more than pleased to have done so.
